“In short, a model performance” said a critic from New York Concert Review about Yukiko’s solo debut recital at Carnegie Weill Recital Hall held in December 2005. The concert was totally sold out and highly acclaimed by the audience.
A native of Tokyo, Japan, Yukiko has been active as a piano soloist and a chamber musician and has performed in North America, Europe and Japan.
Yukiko received an Associate in English from Aoyama Gakuin Women’s Junior College and BA in Sociology from Utah State University where she was honore. She also received a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Music from Albion College, where she won many honors, scholarships, and the College Concerto Competition. Yukiko continued her studies with Maestro German Diez after completing her Master’s degree in piano performance at the City University of New York Brooklyn College, where she was a scholarship student. She has received a Diploma in Spanish Piano from Academia Marshall-Granados in Barcelona, Spain. In 2010, she was honored “Top 10 in 10” Young Alumni Award from Albion College for her outstanding carrier in piano performance.
She resides in New York metropolitan area. She has about 30 private piano students.
2005年12月、ニューヨークのカーネギー・リサイタルホールでソロデビュー。コンサートはデビューにしては異例の完売で、その演奏は「一言で言えば、理想の演奏である」と評論家に絶賛された。
東京出身、ピアノソロだけでなく、室内楽奏者や伴奏者として、北米、ヨーロッパ、日本で活躍中。
青山学院女子短期大学英文科を卒業後、米国ユタ州立大学に編入、社会学学士を取得。その後、ミシガンのアルビオン大学の音楽科に編入、在学中には数々の褒賞や奨学金を授与、大学コンチェルトコンクールに於いて優勝し、大学オーケストラとの共演を果す。卒業後、マエストロ・ヘルマン・ディエス氏に師事する為、ニューヨーク市立大学ブルックリン校へ進学、ピアノ修士課程を修める。また、スペイン、バルセロナのマーシャル・グラナドス音楽院でスペイン音楽のディプロマも取得。2010年には傑出した卒業生に送られる賞、「Top 10 in 10」をアルビオン大学より贈られた。
ニューヨーク在住。演奏活動の傍らピアノも教えている。
